Kangaroo Rats

Kangaroo rats are small and mostly nocturnal rodents that are native to arid climates. They get their name from the way that they hop—in a similar manner to kangaroos. With small ears but long tails and large heads, eyes, and back feet, the kangaroo rat is sandy-brown in color and grows anywhere from about 4 to 6 inches long.
